About the event
My name is Peyton Stilling and I am 18 years old, born and raised in Dallas TX. I am a soulful alternative singer-songwriter. My parents are the main reason for why I am here today and have always told me to follow my dreams. I knew that with a supportive team, the sky was the limit! I am so thankful to be given the God-given gift of music. It was my faith and love of music that helped me through some tough times.
I mention it, because while difficult, it was the struggles that strengthened my faith and created me into the artist I am today. In 2009, when I was 9 years old, my Mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. To say it rocked my world would be an understatement. In an effort to deal with my fears and anxiety, I turned to songwriting to express my feelings. I didn't know how to play an instrument at the time, but the melodies and lyrics would pour from my heart. Songwriting was my way of escaping and soon became my passion. God carried my family through that season and I am overjoyed to say that my Mom has been in remission for almost 8 years.
I "officially" started vocal lessons when I was in 5th grade, although my Mom claims I came out of the womb singing. I was working with a classical voice instructor and performing at various competitions in the DFW area. I enjoyed it, but there was always something missing. After several years, I made the tough decision to move to a studio that specialized in contemporary music, instrument instruction, songwriting and musician branding. Since the transition, I have been working tirelessly on developing as an artist. I am performing at venues, writing music, playing the guitar and piano, recording demos and developing my brand.
I am now busier than ever performing at venues such as The House of Blues, The Wildflower Festival, Lava Cantina, The Texan Theater, Hard Eight BBQ, multiple radio interviews, going on tour through the Texas Hill Country, and traveling to Austin and Nashville. When I am not performing, I am scheduling photo shoots, writing music, and recording in the studio. This has been a dream come true and I am so excited for what the future holds.
