Musicians play in rotation based on sign up times. Sets are generally 10 minutes depends on sign ups. Mainly Acoustic & Keyboards (please have your instruments tuned prior to your set) anything more requires approval prior to sign up. Please feel free to email Steve with questions We prefer musicians with ORIGINAL material but will allow some covers throughout the night. We are an "all ages" venue and do not allow backing tracks, hip hop, rap or bad language. Always a fun night with some incredible talent. An Opening Bell tradition since 2005.

Host: Steve Jackson has been hosting our open mic since 2009. Before that he was a regular performer here since 2006. A veteran of the north Texas music scene since the mid 70's, he left performing in 1981. Steve continued to write and in '06 returned to the stage and rekindled a passion for what he had been missing all those years.

Featured Artist: John Mark Nelson

Songwriter & producer living and working in Saint Paul, Minnesota. At a young age, he received national attention for his self-produced, folk-pop works, Still Here (2011) and Waiting and Waiting (2012), which were followed by extensive national and international touring. In recent years, Nelson has can continued to generate a high volume of recorded works - Sings The Moon (2014), I'm Not Afraid (2015), and Four Days Away (2017) - as well as producing for singer-songwriters like Kara Laudon and Sara Groves.
