McKenzie Brown writes songs the way some people write manifestos—only hers come with better hooks and fewer footnotes. An Oak Cliff troubadour with a sound somewhere between Brandi Carlile’s conviction and Janis Joplin’s chaos, her music is an autobiography of addiction, sobriety, and trying to do the right thing.
