Emily Elbert and Tyler Dow Bryant are combining their musical talents for the first time, after meeting and wanting to play music together for over a year. 17-year-old Tyler, from Honey Grove, Texas, is well known in blues circles for his guitar wizardry. 19-year-old Emily, who grew up in Coppell and now lives in Boston, has made a name for herself as a soulful vocalist and songwriter. Both Emily and Tyler have worked with music legends and won national awards.
Alex Hahn will be playing drums/percussion with Tyler. Emily is proud to be bringing Berklee friends home to Texas with her - bass player, Tim Luckow of New York and drummer, Davis Rowan of Maryland.

Local singer/songwriter Kristy Kruger, and our hard-working barista here at Opening Bell is hosting a benefit for her dog Mojo who was involved in a terrible accident. Mojo fell 12 feet and survived the fall but was left with a very complicated fracture. Surgery was the only option to keep this sweet pup up and running, and the medical bills have exceeded $4,000, which Ms. Kruger is hoping to offset by hosting a benefit in his honor. We are packing the evening with some wonderful local musicians. There is a suggested donation of $10 per person and all donations go to Mojo's surgery. Mojo will be there, so come on down and sign his cast!

KRISTY KRUGER Songwriter and artist Kristy Kruger has musical tastes that travel easily from Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald to Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. The Dallas Morning News says she has grown into one of the most eclectic singers in the area, citing her as a "female Tom Waits." Krüger also won the 2006 Dallas Observer Music Award from Dallas' leading entertainment weekly for Best Female Vocalist and the 2007 Independent Music Award for Best Americana Album of the Year. Krüger is also an engaging storyteller and essayist. She has contributed to Public Radio International's "This American Life" and even made a fan out of the show's host Ira Glass. After losing her brother Lt. Col. Eric Kruger in Iraq, she is now performing memorial concerts in remembrance of him in all 50 states.
