About the event

Songwriters in the Round continues - even during the quarantine!

Buy a ticket and we will grant you access to our Private iNSTAGRAM account. The artists will play live from 7:00 - 8:30 pm

Your $10 ticket will be supporting Opening Bell (to stay open) and the musicians needing money during these trying times.

Host Zach Balch may have grown up in a flat West Texas town where nobody locks their doors, but his sharp wit, thought provoking words and driving ambition stretch much further.  After trading small town life for the bustle of the Dallas metroplex, Zach’s acoustic folk sound took a bluesy-pop turn, culminating in an alt-country sensibility that artists like Ryan Adams and Pete Yorn are known for. When onstage with the rest of the band, pianist Ryan Pool, bassist Robert Willis and guitarist Tyler Martin, Zach Balch and The Company take on an electrifying big-city dimension. The result is the personal prose of David Ramirez meets the clever, full-bodied Alt-Country/Rock of Ryan Adams, served up with a satisfying helping of the Blues.

This Monday night series at Opening Bell Coffee has 2-3 artists playing per night. Audience discussions and questions are welcomed! If you'd like to play the round please email us at booking@openingbellcoffee.com

Olivia Dear

New Year. New Music. New Name. 2020 promises to be a big year for Olivia Dear (formerly Olivia Millerschin). Hailing from Detroit, the young songwriter is hard at work to release new music in February 2020, through a grant awarded by streaming service, Tidal, under her new artist name, Olivia Dear.

After a decade-long career, Dear explains the change: “When I started writing original music, I was 14-years-old and, naturally, I used my family name. ‘Millerschin’ is A LOT but it never occurred to me that I could go by any other name. Now, ten years later, I’ve been given the funding and time to think about and rebrand everything. My grandma, who signed me up for my first gig, has always greeted me as ‘Olivia Dear.’ If it’s good enough for grandma, it’s good enough.”

Just 24-years-old, Olivia plays 150+ shows annually, spanning from Los Angeles to London and in living rooms to concert halls. She’s headlined The Chapel at Masonic Temple in Detroit, Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta, Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, and has toured through numerous other iconic venues nationwide. Whether performing solo or with her band, the live show environment allows Olivia’s fun and vibrant personality to shine and make audiences feel right at home.
